Updates:
Winter is here and so is Phase One of the long-awaited chapel renovation project!  Last week Pacesetter Tree Service and Dave's Stump Grinding paved the way to begin work on the area, and this morning Don and his crew of Lighthouse Construction got started on the building.  They began by removing the large window that overlooks the lake and replacing the frame that holds it up.  The window has been slowly slipping from the edges and it finally got to a crucial point to get it taken care of.  They did an amazing job and now we're having Pacesetter return to clear out some more trees and make way for the metal roof and patio installation.  Time isn't necessarily on our side as we have a lot of work to go before winter sets in, but once the siding is done, the electricity is installed, and a few other exterior projects are completed, we can spend the winter working on the interior.  We're very excited to be a part of this and especially see the developments and results of everyone's hard work.  As everything comes together, we will be photo journaling the progress to share with everyone.

Lake Springfield Baptist Camp is pleased to announce the Chapel Renovation Project.  We are going to make the Chapel a year-round building with heat and air conditioning.  This will make the Chapel more useable for summer camping and available for events throughout the year.  In addition to the heat and air conditioning, we are planning to clean and re-varnish the ceiling and beams, paint the walls, install new windows and doors, carpet the floor (due to asbestos tile), and install new lighting and fans.  New siding and a new metal roof will be added on the outside.  A second phase of the project will be to complete the Chapel with state of the art sound and visual equipment and new chairs.  It is also our hope to make a prayer garden on the east side of the building.

We hope that you and your church will consider being a part of this project.  In addition to the financial needs, we are hoping to do much of the renovation work ourselves, so as money comes in, we will begin various parts of the project.  If you have skills in painting, varnishing, installing windows, electrical work, etc., please let Aaron Stanley know.
