1979 – Mark Estrop becomes Director of Camping 1979 – “New Cabin” becomes “Curt Blair Cabin” 1980 – Funding Our Future Capitol Campaign raises $300,000 for camping and youth ministry in the Great Rivers Region 1981- New Shop is built and new tractor purchased 1986 – Solenberger Cabin is built. First building to be built at camp that is totally handicap accessible. First new building to be built for year round usage. 1986 – Manager’s residence is upgraded with office added. 1988 – “Barb Downs Cabin” is built in memory of former Camp Board member; Lightbody Cabin is also constructed at the same time. 1990 – Foresee The Future Campaign raises money for the building of Carter Hall, renovation of lodge and construction of future conference center. 1992 – Department of Camping and Conferencing is made an official department of the Great Rivers Region 1994 – Carter Hall is dedicated by Carter
family; old Deans Cabin is 1998 - Renovation of Lodge is completed with new bedrooms and new kitchen 2000 – Lightbody Conference Center begins to be built; two cabins are refurbished – Brett Todd Cabin (formerly Grey) and Spinder Cabin (formerly Everham) 2001- At May Board of Managers meeting, Lightbody Conference Center will be dedicated and officially opened. 2003 – Kathy Hutchins started as Manager in February 2005 – New roof on pool pump house and roof fixed on Lodge from storm damage 2006 - Began raising funds for chapel renovation; J.W. Robb builds firewood shelter 01/2007 - Kathy Hutchins resigns as Manager |
