Springfield Baptist Camp connects hundreds of youth each year with the
Gospel of Jesus Christ through the ministry of camping. An essential
part of the future of LSBC is the support of countless individuals standing
behind this ministry in prayer, volunteer work, and financial support.
If you would like to be a part of this network, please consider sharing in
one of the following ways:
1. Prayer Partner With Specific
Campers and Specific Camps:
* send a note to campers in your church
before camp telling them you're praying for them.
* send a note to campers while they are at camp.
2. Scholarship Partner
* with new churches
* with neighborhood ministries
* within your own town - contact a local school
* within your church
* within your family
3. Encourage Campers To Go To Camp
* share personal stories of your camp
experiences in church, to mission groups, or in a newsletter.
* have a camp Sunday: sing camp songs, take a camp offering for
scholarships, serve a meal for a donation with the money going for
scholarships, have a schedule or registration form available and accept
registrations that day.
* pass along a registration packet to those who might be interested in
camp.
* provide transportation to and from camp.
* arrange a pre-camp activity - church picnic, family overnight, cookout
* start kids early in attending LSBC and build on that experience.
* send familiar faces with them to camp - both as leaders and campers;
parents will be more comfortable knowing there is someone from the church
on the groups.
* provide gift certificates to canteen
4. Recruit A Camp Advocate For Your
Church
* help promote projects and needs of the
camp.
* distribute news from LSBC during the year.
* keep the church informed of who is at camp each week.
* hand out and collect registration forms.
5. Get Involved In Maintaining And
Upgrading Facilities
* distribute the wishlist in your church
* do fundraisers or special offerings for needs at the camp
* adopt a cabin, building, or facility at the camp and provide funding for
upgrading.
* help to provide needed maintenance such as electrical, plumbing,
painting, etc.
* share the vision of camp and facility upgrades with your church.
